Thank you for all your support in 2026. We are looking forward to 2027!
We are happy to introduce our team of runners for the 2026 Boston Marathon®. These individuals were chosen to run for our foundation not only for their athleticism, but also for the heart and dedication we know they will bring along with them on their journey to Boston. We can't wait to watch them cross the finish line on April 20th, 2026!

Hi, I'm Teresa! I’ve been running for 15 years, but running took on a new meaning in 2014. I saw a team pushing a child in an adaptive jogger during a local 10K, and I knew immediately this was something I was meant to do. A month later, I pushed a child with cerebral palsy to a half marathon finish. I've been hooked on running with a purpose ever since! Running brings me such joy, and I love being able to help others experience that same sense of accomplishment.
I’m also a middle school science teacher, wife, and mom to two amazing daughters. Running continues to be an adventure- I’m working toward becoming a 50 State Marathoner and embracing every challenge along the way. Boston has always been a dream of mine, and I'm honored to represent The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation, whose mission of inclusion and empowerment is so close to my heart!

This cause is incredibly personal to me. A close friend of mine — also a runner — sustained life-changing spinal injuries in a crash. I’ve witnessed firsthand the daily challenges she faces, and the incredible strength it takes to keep pushing forward. We still train together, and she’ll be running Boston in 2026. I’m running for her — and for everyone who deserves access to the support, technology, and opportunities that can truly change lives. Outside of running, I’m mom to my energetic 2-year-old son, Leo. We love spending time at Disney and traveling as a family whenever we can.

Hi everyone, my name is Lizzie Splaine, and I am so excited to be part of The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation Marathon Team this year! The mission of The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation is especially meaningful to me because my grandfather had Muscular Dystrophy, which greatly impacted his mobility and ultimately confined him to a scooter. From spending time with my grandfather, I saw first-hand the difficulties faced by someone living with mobility challenges. I’m inspired to run for The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation because I want to support an organization committed to supporting individuals with mobility impairments.
I am originally from the Boston area, and I started running in middle school with my mom. I’ve run two half marathons over the last couple years, but this will be my first full marathon. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, going on walks, spending time with my family and trying new restaurants. My older sister will also be running the marathon this year for Muscular Dystrophy Association so I’m extra excited to share this amazing experience with her!

Outside of work, he channels this same energy into mentoring and developing young athletes, serving as a volunteer coach for kids’ cross-country teams.
A devoted father of two daughters, he finds balance through running, travel, and lifelong learning. Having completed five of the six World Marathon Majors, he embodies endurance and dedication both on and off the course. When not training or exploring new destinations, he enjoys reading widely and contributing to social causes that promote education, opportunity, and community well-being.

Hey there! I’m Kyle Bergener, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah — home of mountains, snow, and some of the most beautiful running trails you’ll ever see. I’m pumped to be part of this year’s ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation team! I used to run cross country back in high school (2009–2011), and after a long “intermission,” I laced up again in 2024 — mostly to keep up with my son, Ace, who has the speed and energy of a small tornado.
My wife and I love Disney, so it was only fitting that my first race after my running hiatus was the Disneyland Half Marathon. After that, I committed to running my first full marathon — the Salt Lake Marathon. I’ve found such an outlet with running; I grew up around racecars, and being out on the open track was, in an odd way, therapeutic. When we stepped away from racecars, I needed to find something that gave me that same sense of freedom and focus — and running has become exactly that.
Since my first marathon, I’ve completed the Disney Chills and Thrills Challenge, running a 10K and a half marathon in a two-day span, and wrapped up the season with the Big Cottonwood Marathon a week later. When my wife, Paige, and I aren’t chasing Ace around, you can usually find us on the golf course, by the water with a fishing pole, or at Disneyland — probably with a churro (or two) in hand — doing something that involves engines and a little too much horsepower.
I am especially excited to run in honor of my father-in-law. This past year was the end of a 10+ year injury and the start of a new beginning for him. In 2015 he had a traumatic injury to his right foot that snowballed into years and years of fighting infections, multiple surgeries and lots of roadblocks in between. Because of all this, he and his care team decided that amputation would give him the best quality of life. As with my running, my son has been a driving force for him. In February of this year, my father-in-law had a below knee amputation. In the time leading up to this and the days after, he has had a resilience that is unmatched. There have been hard days, but there has also been many triumphs. He has not only been an inspiration to me, but to everyone around us and I cannot wait to carry that with me throughout my run through Boston.

Hello everyone!
My name is Paula Saraiva, a Portuguese librarian, mother of two, living in Lisbon, and I am very proud to run the Boston Marathon on behalf of The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation. I started running for the first time at age 50—now I’m 55, and running has transformed my life. I had never practiced any sport before, but during a difficult time, I discovered that running made me feel free, joyful, and brought clarity and peace to my mind. It awakened my resilience and gave me the strength and energy to start each day with purpose, as a new woman.
“Together we are stronger” is the motto of my running group (Linda-a-Pastora SC), and with their support, over the last four years I’ve completed 17 half marathons and 8 marathons—including 5 of the World Majors. In Boston, I’ll receive the sixth medal. As this milestone deserves a special celebration, I’ve chosen to run the Boston Marathon not just for the challenge, but for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact: I am very honored and proud to be fundraising for The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation.
This non-profit organization was founded by Boston Marathon bombing survivor Marc Fucarile. Its mission is to support organizations serving people with mobility challenges, as well as individuals with disabilities and their caregivers, by providing financial assistance, adaptive equipment, community programs, and access to essential resources.
This cause is close to my heart. I have a young warrior in my family living with mobility challenges, and I deeply connect with ReM.A.R.C.able’s mission to empower people with mobility impairments. These everyday superheroes deserve access to the resources they need to regain joy, independence, trust, and the freedom to pursue their dreams. Knowing that my fundraising efforts can help someone reclaim confidence, independence, equal opportunities, and happiness fills me with purpose and gratitude.
Running on behalf of The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation inspires me—it’s a true example of resilience and courage in facing life’s obstacles. Running the Boston Marathon with ReM.A.R.C.able won’t just be about crossing a finish line; it’s about opening doors, breaking barriers, and proving that together, nothing is impossible.
Running on behalf of ReM.A.R.C.able is more than a race—it’s a step toward a more inclusive world where no one is left behind.
Let’s make every step count!

My name is Prithvi Rao. Originally from India and a competitive swimmer when I was young, I came into running later in life and completed my first marathon at 50+. I am running the Boston Marathon to support The Re.M.A.R.Cable Foundation. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year, during my journey to become cancer free I was inspired by my father who had been mobility impaired for more than 15 years. His strength, resilience and determination inspires me every day. Movement is something many of us take for granted but for those living with mobility challenges, every step can represent years of effort, courage and hope. Running this marathon is my way of honoring my father’s perseverance and advocating for greater accessibility, inclusion, and opportunities for all. Each mile I run is a reminder that progress comes in many forms — whether it is crossing a finish line or taking a first step toward independence.

Hi, I’m Krissy! Those who know me well know I'm an overscheduled mom who jogs the neighborhood 4-5 times each week at a comfortable snail's pace to stay active. Last month I decided to change that in an effort to make a difference. I'm honored to have teamed up with The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation. Marc Fucarile lost his right leg above the knee and suffered significant damage to his left leg in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Marc has since provided an inspirational example of perseverance and resilience. He founded this organization to support members of the mobility impaired and disabled communities. My goal is to move (fast enough to finish the 2026 Boston Marathon on the same calendar day it starts on!) to help others with physical challenges. Please consider teaming up with me to share the gift of movement with those who need expensive equipment to enjoy sports and physical activity. I will keep you updated with my progress -the good, the bad, the ugly, and the hilarious! In the last month I've fit running into my schedule 5-6 days/week. I've taken those 10-minute mom miles to the Journey Home 10K, on November 9th, where I finished with an average pace of 8:34 min/mile. It felt AWFUL, but the finish line, and the mission are worth it. This won't be anywhere close to easy but I couldn't be more excited to be a part of giving back in this big way. Opportunities to donate and my training updates will regularly arrive in your messages and social media. Please consider following along and contributing. And, please send good luck my way. I need it!
