Everything you need to know about The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation: getting support, giving, running with our marathon team, volunteering, and booking Marc.

About the Foundation

What is The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation?

The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation supports organizations that serve people with mobility challenges, as well as individuals with disabilities and the caregivers who stand by them. We champion accessibility and inclusion by providing financial assistance, adaptive equipment, community programs, and access to essential resources.

Who founded the foundation, and why?

The foundation was founded in 2023 by Marc Fucarile, a survivor of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Marc lost his right leg above the knee and spent more than three years in and out of hospitals. During his recovery, he and his family received an outpouring of support from people across the country, many of them strangers. Marc established the foundation to pay that kindness forward and give back directly to the mobility-impaired and disability communities. Read our story.

What kinds of support does the foundation provide?

Our work falls into three areas: adaptive equipment (such as handcycles and mono skis), financial assistance for individuals, families, and caregivers facing the cost of care, and grants and partnerships with nonprofits and disability-owned businesses. See real examples on our Impact page.

Getting Support

How can I ask the foundation for help?

Reach out through our contact form or email info@remarcablefoundation.com. Tell us a little about your situation and what kind of support you’re looking for, and our team will follow up with you.

Do you support caregivers, or only individuals with disabilities?

Both. Caregivers are a core part of our mission. For example, our Inaugural Fundraising Gala raised money to help a Woburn family cover the cost of care for Mark Hutchinson, who has cerebral palsy, and to make their home safer for him.

Does the foundation work with other nonprofits?

Yes. We support organizations serving people with mobility challenges, including Granite State Adaptive Sports, Onward Motion Helps, Joaquin in2 Inclusion, AdaptX’s Unified 5K Series, and Disabled American Veterans. If your organization is interested in partnering with us, get in touch.

Donating

How do I donate?

You can give securely on our Donate page. Donations are processed through Zeffy, and payment details are entered directly into Zeffy’s secure form, never stored on our website.

Why does the donation form ask for an optional contribution to Zeffy?

Zeffy is a free fundraising platform for nonprofits. Instead of charging the foundation fees, it asks donors for an optional contribution to support its service. That contribution is entirely up to you, and you can change it to $0.

How is my donation used?

Donations fund adaptive equipment, financial assistance for individuals and caregivers, grants and sponsorships for disability-focused organizations, and community programs. Our Impact page and newsroom share where support has gone.

Can my business sponsor the foundation or match my gift?

Yes. We welcome corporate sponsorships, matching gifts, event fundraisers, and in-kind donations. Contact us and we’ll find the right fit.

Marathon Team

How do I apply to run the Boston Marathon with Team ReM.A.R.C.able?

Visit our Boston Marathon page. Applications for the 2027 Bank of America Boston Marathon® Charity Program team closed on October 5, 2026. We are not taking applications for 2028 at this time. Join our email list and we’ll share running and fundraising opportunities as we get them.

Do I need a Boston qualifying time to run for the charity team?

No. Charity program runners earn their bib through the charity team and its fundraising rather than a qualifying time.

Do I have to live in New England to apply?

No. Our teams have included runners from across the U.S. and as far away as Portugal.

How much have past marathon teams raised?

Our 2026 Boston Marathon team raised $88,232, and our first Paris Marathon team raised $14,465.

Volunteering & Events

How can I volunteer?

Fill out our volunteer application. You can choose the areas you’re interested in (events, fundraising and outreach, social media, transportation assistance, peer support, adaptive recreation, and more) and how often you’re available.

Is there a background check for volunteers?

Volunteers may be subject to a background check before volunteering. This is noted in the agreement at the end of the volunteer application.

Where can I meet the foundation in person?

We attend expos, races, and community events throughout the year, including the Abilities Expo. See what’s coming up on our Events page.

Speaking & Sponsorship

Can I book Marc Fucarile to speak at my event?

Yes. Marc speaks as a keynote speaker, workshop leader, and mentor, sharing his message of true grit, the power of positivity, and not letting yesterday’s hardships stand in the way of today’s victories. Send a request through our Speaking page.

How do I become a sponsor?

We offer sponsorship opportunities for marathon teams, events, and adaptive equipment grants. Contact us to learn about the right option for your organization.
