Mark Hutchinson: Cerebral Palsy
Mark's parents were his primary caregivers for his whole life. After both of them passed away, his sister Kate became his primary caregiver. She's a mom with a full-time job, so she has had to pay for help during the hours she can't be there. Because Mark has been dedicated to his job for 29 years, he isn't eligible for much assistance with these expenses. Kate is also adding on to her house to give Mark his own safe living space, which will let her care for him more hours of the day and cut the cost of care.
Mark was the beneficiary of our Inaugural Fundraising Gala in April 2026, where we raised money to help offset the cost of his care and the construction on Kate's home.

LJ Shurpik: A handcycle, and a marathon dream
LJ was born missing bones in her right foot and leg. Her foot was amputated when she was one. At 7, a lengthening surgery led to more than 100 surgeries and procedures. When she was 10, her knee collapsed and she had an above-knee amputation. Today she lives an active life, working as a medical biller and a distillery tasting-room host, and she has found healing through mountain climbing, CrossFit, and skiing.

A mono ski for Granite State Adaptive Sports
The foundation purchased a mono ski for the Granite State Adaptive program at King Pine Ski Resort in Madison, New Hampshire. The equipment is adjustable, so it can serve many of the program's adaptive athletes for years to come.
Disability-Owned Business
EnableGear Wheelbags, given free
EnableGear was started by a wheelchair user who needed a bag that wouldn't spill her belongings and was easier to reach than one hung on the back of the chair. She created the Wheelbag. Marc met founder Janele at the 2025 Abilities Expo and fell in love with the product. We partnered with EnableGear on a bulk order of foundation-branded Wheelbags and gave them away to wheelchair users at the Abilities Expos we attended.

Grant · $4,000
Onward Motion Helps
Marc presented a $4,000 check on behalf of the foundation to Onward Motion Helps, a disability-led movement fueled by creativity, courage, and community. Their work funds once-in-a-lifetime adaptive adventures, builds a fierce and supportive community, and amplifies disabled voices through the CripTales podcast.
Veterans · Donation
Disabled American Veterans
DAV makes sure veterans and their families can access the benefits they have earned. It advocates for veterans, connects them with meaningful employment, and hosts events where they can connect with one another. Marc was invited to the DAV Bowl in San Francisco and saw their impact firsthand.
The foundation made a sizable donation to DAV to help connect more veterans with that experience. Visit DAV

Unified 5K Series by AdaptX
We're a proud sponsor of the Unified 5K Series, a global social impact initiative created by AdaptX. It includes inclusive road races, adaptive sports expos, and amputee mobility clinics, and it raises money for a grant program that donates running blades, running chairs, and adaptive fitness equipment and provides financial assistance for adaptive athletes.

Brandon's House is an outpatient agency offering free, professional counseling to teens and their families in the Kentuckiana region, including individual, family, and group therapy for depression, anxiety, self-esteem, family dynamics, and more.

The Stucci Family
In 2011, the father of this family was crushed between two cars. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and needed 14 screws in his back. With babies at home, he took himself off disability to provide for his family and was then forced to repay two years of disability benefits. In 2023, a strangulated hernia led to an emergency surgery, then a second emergency surgery months later to remove damaged intestines that should have been removed the first time, followed by two more surgeries the next year. When a further surgery was recommended, insurance denied it.
During this time he lost his job, and the family was briefly homeless. His three sons are on the autism spectrum, and losing his job meant losing the family's insurance. The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation provided financial support to ease some of the burden they're carrying.

We would not have been able to stay afloat in 2025 without The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation. The team consistently made themselves available to me, often taking phone calls that lasted up to two hours. Marc and the foundation opened doors by connecting me with new people, identifying valuable resources, and creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration. Their belief in our mission made a lasting impact that cannot be measured in dollars alone.
