PARIS — The ReM.A.R.C.able Foundation took its mission across the Atlantic this spring with its first year of Paris Marathon fundraising, fielding its first team at the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris. Five runners raised $14,465 for people living with mobility challenges.
Leading the way was Brendan McCue, Marc Fucarile’s cousin, who first ran Boston in Marc’s honor in 2014 and has since run for the foundation in 2024 and 2025. He was joined by Meghna Joshi, Rakhi Nagarani, Mohan Korrapati, and Kiran Fujiwara, who has now completed 16 marathons and two 50K ultras.
I believe hard work and dedication gets people through many finish lines in life, and that is what will get our team through 26.2 miles in Paris.

For Kiran, the race was about gratitude as much as distance. “At every single race, I thank God for helping me stand at the start and finish line, which I will never take for granted,” Kiran said. “I run for peace, I run for me, and I run for a cause.”
The foundation thanked every supporter who donated to the Paris team, noting how hard its runners worked on their fundraising in the months leading up to race day.
What Paris Marathon fundraising supports
Every dollar the Paris team raised goes toward the same work as the foundation’s Boston team: adaptive equipment such as handcycles and mono skis, financial assistance for individuals and caregivers facing the cost of care, and grants to nonprofits and disability-owned businesses that serve people with mobility challenges.
Real examples of that support, from a handcycle for a New Hampshire athlete to a gift for a disability-led adventure nonprofit, are on our impact page.
Taking the mission international
The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris gave the foundation its first team outside the United States. For Brendan McCue, who first ran Boston in Marc’s honor in 2014, it was a chance to carry that same promise to a new city. For teammates like Kiran Fujiwara, it was one more finish line run for a cause.
Marc Fucarile founded the foundation in 2023, ten years after the Boston Marathon bombing, to give back to the people and communities who supported his recovery. Seeing runners carry that mission through the streets of Paris showed how far it has already traveled.
